After a sufficient time allowed for the reaction between the dye and the fiber to complete, depending on the temperature, and open the cloth certain dyes, rinsed with cold water, and finally washed with hot water. Detergents called Synthrapol preferred by many dyers, although any neutral detergent may be used. During the tie-dyeing, such as good fiber reactive dyes are used, the chemical reaction that permanently bonds the colored paint on the fabric, making tie-dye safe to wash with other garments after excess dye was removed.
